UFO's have been witnessed for millenia. In his recent autobiographical book, Forbidden Science, Vallee summed up his views about the provenance of UFOs, a viewpoint that he’s developed through decades of research: “The UFO Phenomenon exists. It has been with us throughout history. It is physical in nature and it remains unexplained in terms of contemporary science. It represents a level of consciousness that we have not yet recognized, and which is able to manipulate dimensions beyond time and space as we understand them.” So much for anti-gravity-powered starships ferrying Big Brothers from outer space. Vallee thinks UFOs are likely “windows” to other dimensions manipulated by intelligent, often mischievous, always enigmatic beings we have yet to understand. (60 Greatest Conspiracies of All Time covers Vallee’s theories in detail.)

Charles Upton has a somewhat similar view. Can we really know what UFO’s are? The answer is “yes”—but only if we study them armed with a kind of knowledge that explains the true and complete structure of the universe—spiritual, psychic, and material—a knowledge that only traditional metaphysics can provide. Science can supply one piece of the puzzle, detective work and investigative reporting another, psychic investigation still another. But only metaphysics can put the puzzle together, and give us a complete and satisfying picture of the UFO phenomenon. Cracks in the Great Wall analyzes of the findings of UFO researcher Jacques Vallee and some of his colleagues in light of the teachings of French metaphysician René Guénon, particularly as expressed in his prophetic masterpiece The Reign of Quantity and the Signs of the Times. According to Guénon, one of the signs of the End Times is the erosion of the energy barrier or “Great Wall” between the material plane and the world of subtle realities—which is why our world is presently being invaded by “infra-psychic forces” of a terribly destructive nature. The author shows how one of the most obvious examples of this invasion is the UFO phenomenon, including the experience of “alien abduction”. A lifetime student of comparative religion and mysticism, he explains the true nature of UFOs, the quality of the world they come from, and also something about the agenda these beings, or some of them, are trying to impose upon our world. https://archive.org/details/cracks_great_wall

As some wise Ufologist recently remarked - "when UFOs are finally proven to be real, the only people who'll be astonished will be the 'scientists' " Those who (as Avi Loeb notes) supposedly study & measure physical reality in order to get to the 'truth' yet conveniently ignore all the uncomfortable bits that don't fit the models & with which they prefer not to engage. This, as Loeb points out, is NOT 'science' and is in fact its antithesis. You couldn't make it up! 😆

Agreed—this is a fantastic article. I've often wondered about the lack of serious interest in these matters by "Science" and official institutions. I had my own theories, but I confess the argument put forward in this piece is one that hadn't occurred to me. It explains a great deal. Fascinating stuff!

A pleasure to read a solid piece by someone who has their head on straight.
